Book a Workshop.

Why?

When it comes to my art workshops, I have two main intentions: my aim is to help you learn and develop artistic skills and techniques, but I am also a true believer in how beneficial art can be as a way of embracing calmness, expression and releasing tension and worries.

I want to you to leave having created some fantastic pieces of art, having learnt and developed skills, but also having felt and experienced the calmness and serenity that art can bring.

I have 10 years of experience teaching art in secondary schools and I am DBS checked. I cater all workshops to the individuals attending, working at the pace that suits them, providing a safe space to ask questions. My aim is to teach the art processes and techniques of choice, whilst nurturing creativity and imagination.

Upcoming Workshops

Booking system opens Sunday 24th March at 6pm

Glass Painting, Age 6-10

In this workshop, the children will use a gutta outliner to draw their chosen design onto glass (perspex for safety) to create their borders. They will then use glass paint to add colour to stained glass work of art!

Spring Collage, age 5-10

In this workshop, children will be creating a spring inspired collage using layers of coloured pencil, fine liner, collage material and lino printing. They will explore composition and the use of drawing and lino printing to create a contrasting and bold springtime collage.

This workshop has taken inspiration from the artists Angie Lewis and Mark Hearld and their use of block printing and nature.

In this mindful workshop, the children will be using acrylic paint to paint a spring chicken! They will be taught how to apply the paint with control and will use layers and patterns to create a colourful, vibrant and creative painting. If they have time, they will then use collage to add another element to the background of their painting.

Dry Point Etching, Adults

Dry Point Etching, also known as intaglio, is a printmaking process in which a design is drawn on a plate with a sharp, pointed needle-like instrument. After making the incisions or indents in a plate, the ink is applied and then wiped off. Ink remains caught in the incisions and creates the image onto printmaking paper when run through a printing press.

In this Dry Point workshop, you will be taught the process for making an Etching using a variety of methods to create line and texture. You will also be taught different ways of inking and cleaning the plate to achieve different effects.

This workshop is suitable for all abilities, whether you are a beginner or someone reacquainting themselves with the art form. All materials and reference images will be supplied, but please feel free to bring your own ideas too!
